
Kent State University, known as Kent, Kent State and KSU, is a public research university located in the suburban of Kent, Ohio. Brief Intro to KUS History and Current Status
Kent State University was established in 1910 as the Kent Normal School as an institution for training public school teachers. Classes began two years later when the construction of the buildings yet to be finished. The school was renamed Kent State Normal College later when it is qualified to provide four-year degrees.
In 1924, Kent became the largest teacher-training school in the nation in regard to registration for summer classes. Four years after that, the Ohio State changed the name of the school to Kent State College and allowed the establishment of a college of arts and sciences. KSU has eight campuses, all of which are around the northeast Ohio region. The main campus in Kent is the largest among them.
